The new BlueBird is a dream kiln for the glass bead enthusiast. It safely anneals the glass to prevent breakage during cooling.
The kiln opens doorways of opportunity in beadmaking. The 2 ¾” tall, 10” wide double doors give a total of 20” width for inserting bead rods. This kiln is ideal for seminar teachers. It is like having two kilns instead of one.
The BlueBird has a user-friendly 3-key Sentry Xpress digital controller. It automatically maintains the annealing temperature that you program. The controller is packed with features but is so easy to use that your child could program it.
The BlueBird has high-tech ceramic fiber insulation in the roof, walls and floor. The element is seated in pinless grooves in the roof. This is a true high performance kiln you will enjoy using often.
The rugged steel case is light weight, portable, with a slotted base and louvered switch box for long life of the electrical system. The BlueBird plugs into a standard household outlet. It draws only 960 watts, less than many hair dryers. The kiln ships by convenient UPS. Specially designed cartons and foam padding assure that the kiln will arrive safely.
The Sentry Xpress 3-key controller is packed with features. It includes two modes: Single Speed and 8-segment Ramp-Hold. The solid state controller continually monitors the firing so you can spend your time productively without closely watching the kiln. The sealed controller touch pad keeps out dust and is easy to wipe clean.

Design programs with up to 8 segments (steps) in Ramp-Hold mode.
Fire to a single temperature at a single speed in the simplified Single Speed mode.
Ramp-Hold mode can store 4 programs.
Skip a segment in Ramp-Hold during firing.
Change the target temperature in Ramp-Hold during firing.
Hold (soak) the temperature in both Single Speed and Ramp-Hold.
Control both heating and cooling in Ramp-Hold.
Program Review lets you check the program you are about to fire.
A temperature alarm.
Temperature Display throughout firing and cooling in your choice of °F or °C
Thermocouple Offset adjusts the thermocouple readout.
Set the Delay to turn on the kiln later to suit your schedule.
Error Messages report mechanical problems such as a disconnected thermocouple, stuck relay or broken element.
