Open Studio for Fused Glass Artists | 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Come collaborate and create during this dedicated studio time just for fusers! And then take advantage of sharing the costs of kiln space with others! 
Projects taking up to a square foot, will be $15 to fire. To fill up a 13" square kiln shelf, will be $25 to fire. You can select to do a Full Fuse or a Tack Fuse.

Tuition: $30.
All tools, grinders, and table space will be available for you.

Stained Glass Art Strips | 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Instructors: Bob McLaughlin and Susan Stegall

Are you looking to get your feet wet with lead stained glass? Or an experienced crafter looking for new ideas for all those glass scraps?

In this 3 hour workshop, learn the basics and a few little twists while making a gorgeous art strip! You get to select from a large selection of 3" wide pieces of beautiful stained glass, and then choose glass embellishments to make it truly a one-of-a-kind! Your finished panel's length will be about 21" long, and you will be shown how to solder hangers at the top.
All tools and supplies are provided.

Beginner's Stained Glass - Copper Foil | 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM
Instructor: Lisa Sejnowski

Students learn the basics of the art of stained glass including glass cutting techniques, design considerations, copper foil construction, soldering and framing a stained glass panel.

Students will complete a copper foil project. We have many patterns to choose from, or you can supply one of your own (subject to approval).

Tuition: $145
(Glass, tools and supplies will run approximately $300 and are available at Blue Moon.)

One day a week on Mondays, from 6:30-9:00pm for 6 weeks. (May require some homework to be done outside of class time, depending on complexity of pattern.) (no class on Labor Day)

Beginning Stained Glass - Lead | 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM
Instructor: Jim Berry
Students learn the basics of the art of stained glass including glass cutting techniques, design considerations, lead construction, soldering and framing a stained glass panel.
Students will complete a lead panel, with glass selections you have chosen.


Tuition: $145
(Glass, tools and supplies will run approximately $300 and are available at Blue Moon.)

One day a week on Tuesdays, from 6:30-9 pm for 6 weeks.

Wednesday, August 30
Introduction to Fusing and Slumping | 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Instructor: Terry Mothersole

Students will learn the basics of fusing glass together in a kiln and slumping it in molds to achieve various shapes! Instruction includes cutting glass, how a design can be realized with the use of different forms of glass, understanding the firing of a kiln and other cool techniques. Students will complete 5 projects of their own designs. Changing it up a little this time...our circle project will be a drop ring vase!!!

Tuition: $175
(Tools are provided, as well as materials for the first night's project. Students can expect to spend approximately $100 for glass for the 4 remaining projects.)

This 5 week class meets on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:30pm.

Saturday, September 16
Repair of Stained Glass Panels - Demonstration | 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Instructor: Bob McLaughlin
Students will see a demonstration on how to replace a broken piece of glass in both a copper foil and a leaded glass panel, and be shown how to remove, repair, and replace a section of the panel's frame.
Students will receive a comprehensive handout describing the processes demonstrated. No hands-on in this class. Students will need a basic understanding of stained glass construction.

Tuition: $95

This is a 3 hour Saturday morning class.

Monday, September 18
Outside the Lines Beginning Mosaic Class | 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM
Instructor: Mindy Graber
This 4 week, Monday evening  beginner mixed media mosaic class will focus on using your creative vision to explore various techniques and have fun coming up with ideas that expand our thinking away from the straight edges of the substrate. Starting with a 10”x18” Wedi substrate, you will cut, design, construct, grout, and prepare your piece of wall art!
This would be a perfect time to build something seasonal! A pumpkin, or cat or a tree!

Tools, glue and substrate will be provided, along with a beautiful assortment of stained glass, vitreous glass tiles, and glass rods.
There will be other materials available for purchase at Blue Moon, such as Italian smalti, mirrored tile, millefiori, and other treasures you may discover in the store. You are welcome to bring personal small mementos of metal or stone to add to your piece.

Tuition for this 4 week class is $195.

Thursday, September 21
Floral Roses, Sweet Peas and Murrini ! | 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Come join our guest lamp working artist, Tatyana Boyarinova, for this beautiful 2 day class on Thursday, September 21st, and Friday, September 22nd.

On the first day of this 2 day class, she will show you her way to get different thickness of petals. We will play with color making of one and two-tone petals. We will also discuss more and less suitable glass to make petals. We’ll apply her technique through the example of a Rose and a Sweet Pea. If time allows, she will also demo an Iris!

On the second day of class, we’ll start working with stamens pulling easy murrini and making a full central part. Then we’ll discuss the way to choose the petals’ color. Let’s find out how to get the shape of the petals! Understanding the way to make this flower will give you explanation of making any murrini flowers or fish.
These are intermediate level classes, so previous flame working experience is required.

Tuition: $450
(A deposit of $225 is required to secure your place in this class)

This 2 day class will be Thursday, September 21st, and Friday, September 22nd, 2017.

Floral Bouquets | 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Come join a second session of instruction with our guest lamp working artist, Tatyana Boyarinova, for another beautiful 2 day class on Saturday, September 23rd, and Sunday, September 24th.

This 2 day class includes making off mandrel Snow Flowers, Crocuses and Sweet Pea flowers. We’ll learn to make different shapes of petals. We will use different ways to work with petals choosing the best way to get the thickness we need. Then the most interesting part of the class – setting up full branches of flowers! At the end of the class students will end up with 3 bouquets of their own glass flowers!
These are intermediate level classes, so previous flame working experience is required.

Tuition: $450

Fused Holiday Stand-Ups | 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Welcoming back guest fusing and mosaic artist, Wesley Wong, for some holiday classes!

In this first one day class, create a fused glass stand-up Christmas tree or menorah for the holidays. A dichroic star-topper can be added to the Christmas tree, and a set of candle cups will be provided for the menorah. Learn how to make these interlocking holiday symbols that can be disassembled and packed away after the holidays. You can also make some small ornaments or a mezuzah to add to the holiday festivities.

Tuition: $195.
All materials and tools will be provided.
Basic glass cutting skills required.

Sunday, October 22
Freeze and Fuse Day of the Dead! | 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Welcoming back guest fusing and mosaic artist, Wesley Wong, for some holiday classes!

In this second one day class offering, create some fused glass skulls of various sizes for Halloween and Day of the Dead. The smaller skulls can be incorporated into a mosaic, or used for jewelry. Glass powders are packed into silicone or plastic molds, frozen, and fired in the kiln. The larger skulls are also packed with fiber blanket that is soaked with rigidizer, resulting in a piece that is hollow and light weight after it is fired in the kiln.

Tuition: $195.
All materials and tools will be provided.
No fusing or glass cutting skills required.
Lunch will be provided by Blue Moon.
