Stained Glass Art Strips | 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Are you looking to get your feet wet with lead stained glass? Or an experienced crafter looking for new ideas for all those glass scraps?

In this 3 hour workshop, learn the basics and a few little twists while making a gorgeous art strip! You get to select from a large selection of 3" wide pieces of beautiful stained glass, and then choose glass embellishments to make it truly a one-of-a-kind! Your finished panel's length will be about 21" long, and you will be shown how to solder hangers at the top.
All tools and supplies are provided.

Glass Cutting Class | 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Instructor: Susan Stegall
Have you ever wanted to sharpen your glass cutting skills? This class is a great opportunity for that. We put together a four hour class on Sunday afternoon that focuses only on glass cutting. We introduce various styles of glass cutters and their proper use, as well as the appropriate running and breaking pliers. Plenty of glass will be provided to practice.

We demonstrate the Morton Glass Works Portable Glass Shop as well as the Beetle Bits Glass Cutting System. These are both great systems for the production stained glass and mosaic artists.
We also introduce you to the Taurus III Ring saw.

One day class on Sunday, from 1-5pm.

Tuition: $75 (all glass and tools are provided.) Plus, all tools will be discounted 10% on class day only!!

Outside the Lines...See Beyond the Substrate | 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM
 Instructor: Mindy Graber
This 4 week beginner mixed media mosaic class will focus on using your creative vision to explore various techniques and have fun coming up with ideas that expand our thinking away from the straight edges of the substrate. Starting with a 10”x18” Wedi substrate, you will cut, design, construct, grout, and prepare your piece of wall art!
Tools, glue and substrate will be provided, along with a beautiful assortment of stained glass, vitreous glass tiles, and glass rods.
There will be other materials available for purchase at Blue Moon, such as Italian smalti, mirrored tile, millefiori, and other treasures you may discover in the store. You are welcome to bring personal small mementos of metal or stone to add to your piece.

Tuition for this 4 week class is $195.

Beginner's Stained Glass - Copper Foil | 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM
Instructor: Lisa Sejnowski
Students learn the basics of the art of stained glass including glass cutting techniques, design considerations, copper foil construction, soldering and framing a stained glass panel.

Students will complete a copper foil project. We have many patterns to choose from, or you can supply one of your own (subject to approval).

Tuition: $145
(Glass, tools and supplies will run approximately $300 and are available at Blue Moon.)

One day a week on Mondays, from 6:30-9:00pm for 6 weeks.

Repair of Stained Glass Panels: Demonstration | 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Instructor: Bob McLaughlin
Students will see a demonstration on how to replace a broken piece of glass in both a copper foil and a leaded glass panel, and be shown how to remove, repair, and replace a section of the panel's frame.
Students will receive a comprehensive handout describing the processes demonstrated. No hands-on in this class. Students will need a basic understanding of stained glass construction.

Tuition: $95

This 3 hour class will be Saturday, May 13th, 2017, from 9am-12pm.

Students learn the basics of the art of stained glass including glass cutting techniques, design considerations, lead construction, soldering and framing a stained glass panel.
Students will complete a lead panel, with glass selections you have chosen.

Fused Glass Tealight Candle Votives | 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Instructor: Terry Mothersole
A little twist to our stringer vase class! In this 2 hour class, you will get to make 2 candle votives for small tea lights. One will use 5" long System 96 glass stringers to make a mardi-gras woven appearance! And then the second votive will be a single sheet of Spectrum glass that you will decorate with glass elements.

No class cutting or fusing experience required. If you have taken our stringer vase/bowl class, you can bring the stringers you took home if you like. Just have them cut to 5" before you arrive.

Wednesday, May 31
Engraved Dichroic Pendants: Picasso and You! | 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Instructor: Terry Mothersole
In this fun 2-day glass fusing class, you will get to design 2 dichroic pendants that you build and then engrave with your own artwork!
Picasso loved to bend the rules and boldly manipulate shapes and colors! So on one pendant, you will get to bring out your inner Picasso! On your second pendant, you learn how to use ink stamps on the dichroic surface to help create a design. On the first night, you will build your pendants and they will be fired in the kiln. Then the second night, you will then use a dremel to engrave your design in permanently onto your pendants! Then they will be fire-polished and bailed!

Tuition is $95
Includes all glass and use of tools. (if you have a dremel, feel free to bring it)
Got ink stamps that you love? Bring them or use one of ours! Or better yet, freehand!!

This is a Wednesday and Thursday night class.

Wednesday, June 14
Open Studio for Fusers | 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Come collaborate and create during this dedicated studio time just for fusers! And then take advantage of sharing the costs of kiln space with others!
Projects taking up to a square foot, will be $15 to fire. To fill up a 13" square kiln shelf, will be $25 to fire. You can select to do a Full Fuse or a Tack Fuse.

Tuition: $30.
All tools, grinders, and table space will be available for you.

Next class is Wednesday, June 14th, from 4-7pm.

Itching to Etch! | 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Instructor: Lydia Johns
Add new dimension to your metal working as we chemically etch copper to create unique textures. After etching your metals you can make simple jewelry designs to take home.

Students will need to bring or purchase these tools:
Round nose pliers
Flat nose pliers
Flush cut wire cutters
Metal shears
If you have rubber stamps that you think might make a good texture please bring them as well.

Tools are available for sale at Blue Moon. All other materials will be provided.
