Repair of Stained Glass Panels: Demonstration | 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

New class offering! 
Students will see a demonstration on how to replace a broken piece of glass in both a copper foil and a leaded glass panel, and be shown how to remove, repair, and replace a section of the panel's frame.
Students will receive a comprehensive handout describing the processes demonstrated. No hands-on in this class. Students will need a basic understanding of stained glass construction.

PMC Ring: Ring a Bling Bling! | 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Instructor: Lydia Johns
Come design your own ring using PMC+ and an incredible embeddable prong setting! In this one day class, she will teach you how to build a ring and then set a faceted stone on your creation. It is a whole lot easier than it looks.

We will cover building a basic ring, texturing your ring band, creating sunken settings, and making sure your ring fits after it is fired.

Each student will create at least one finished ring in class.

There is enough clay provided (28gr.) to make 3 rings like the ones pictured!

Tuition: $225. All materials and tools provided.

Lunch will be provided by Blue Moon.

Thursday, March 30
Open Studio for Fused Glass Mosaic Elements | 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Add a whole new dimension to your mosaic projects by making your own unique elements.

Come work along side other mosaic artists in this 3 hour studio time, and share the kiln fusing charges. Come with ideas on what you would like to fuse, and/or come and just experiment by filling up a kiln shelf with pieces of glass and see how they change!

Previous fusing experience is recommended if you want to create layered elements, since you have to use glass that is compatible in the kiln.

Tuition is $30. Please feel free to bring your tools.
To fill up a 10" square kiln shelf, would be $15 to fire. To fill up a 13" square kiln shelf, would be $25 to fire. You can select to do a Full Fuse or a Tack Fuse.

Tuesday, April 4
Beginner's Stained Glass - Lead | 7:00 PM - 9:30 PM
Instructor: Jim Berry

Students learn the basics of the art of stained glass including glass cutting techniques, design considerations, lead construction, soldering and framing a stained glass panel.

Students will complete a lead panel, with glass selections you have chosen.

One day a week on Tuesdays, from 7-9:30pm for 6 weeks.

Next class starts April 4th, 2017 through May 9th.

Tuition: $145
(Glass, tools and supplies will run approximately $300 and are available at Blue Moon.)

Wednesday, April 5
Introduction to Fusing and Slumping | 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Instructor: Terry Mothersole
Students will learn the basics of fusing glass together in a kiln and slumping it in molds to achieve various shapes! Instruction includes cutting glass, how a design can be realized with the use of different forms of glass, understanding the firing of a kiln and other cool techniques. Students will complete 5 projects of their own designs!

This 5 week class meets on Wednesday evenings from 7-9pm.

Next class starts Wednesday, April 5th, 2017 and ends May 3rd.

Tuition: $175 (Tools are provided, as well as materials for the first night's project. Students can expect to spend approximately $100 for glass for the 4 remaining projects.)

Saturday, April 22
Wire Wrapped Glass Rocks with Libby Leuchtman | 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
This 2 day intermediate flameworking class has so much information packed into one class! You would think making a glass rock is simple but really there is more than meets the eye.

On the first day Libby will cover making basic rocks with color mixing, shaping and added details. You will learn how to blow silver glass shards to create an agate look, blow ivory silver shards for marble style stones, and using enamels to create the quartz stones.

On the second day, you will learn three versions of wire wrapping: simple wire wrapped rock, complex wire wrapped rock, and center decorated wire wrapped rock.

Make more shards for Turquoise rock to take home!

Class will be Saturday, April 22nd and Sunday, April 23rd, 2017, from 10am-6pm.

Tuition: $450

Stained Glass Art Strips | 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Instructors Bob McLaughlin and Susan Stegall
Are you looking to get your feet wet with lead stained glass? Or an experienced crafter looking for new ideas for all those glass scraps?

In one afternoon, learn the basics and a few little twists while making a gorgeous art strip! You get to select from a large selection of 3" wide pieces of beautiful stained glass, and then choose glass embellishments to make it truly a one-of-a-kind! Your finished panel's length will be about 21" long, and you will be shown how to solder hangers at the top.
All tools and supplies are provided.

One afternoon class on a Saturday from 1-4pm.

Sunday, May 7
Glass Cutting Class | 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Instructor: Susan Stegall
Have you ever wanted to sharpen your glass cutting skills? This class is a great opportunity for that. We put together a four hour class on Sunday afternoon that focuses only on glass cutting. We introduce various styles of glass cutters and their proper use, as well as the appropriate running and breaking pliers. Plenty of glass will be provided to practice.

We demonstrate the Morton Glass Works Portable Glass Shop as well as the Beetle Bits Glass Cutting System. These are both great systems for the production stained glass and mosaic artists.
We also introduce you to the Taurus III Ring saw.

One day class on Sunday, from 1-5pm.

Tuition: $75 (all glass and tools are provided.) Plus, all tools will be discounted 10% on class day only!!
