Outside the Lines, Beyond the Substrate | 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM
Instructor: Mindy Graber

This 5 week beginner mixed media mosaic class will focus on using your creative vision to explore various techniques and have fun coming up with ideas that expand our thinking away from the straight edges of the substrate. Starting with a 10”x18” Wedi substrate, you will cut, design, construct, grout, and prepare your piece of wall art!

Tools, glue and substrate will be provided, along with a beautiful assortment of stained glass, vitreous glass tiles, and glass rods.
There will be other materials available for purchase at Blue Moon, such as Italian smalti, mirrored tile, millefiori, and other treasures you may discover in the store. You are welcome to bring personal small mementos of metal or stone to add to your piece.

Tuition is $225.

This is a 5 week Monday night class, from 6:30 - 9:00pm.

Bead Open Studio | 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM
Instructor: Lisa Jo Bass

Students must have completed our Beginner Bead Instruction class (or equivalent) to take this open studio. This studio time helps beginner bead artists get more experience (shaping and fundamentals) on the torch so that you can move on to our intermediate classes. More experienced bead artists are also welcome to get some more torch time. All tools are available for this class.

Fishy Fusion!! | 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM
Instructor: Terry Mothersole

In this intermediate fusing workshop, based on a pattern book, “Warm Glass Plates and Platters” by Dione Roberts, you will have 4 different fish patterns to choose from: a large trout, a large mackerel, and (new this year!!) a small trout and a koi. You'll also learn a neat trick for hanging your glass art.

The materials and supplies for this class will include a fish pattern, a water-jet cut Bullseye COE 90 Tekta clear fish base, and all the glass and glass embellishments to spice up your fish. Tools will be available, but if you have a good glass cutter, feel free to bring it.

This is a 2 night class. The first night, you will cut out your pattern, select your glass and build the colored layer. In the second night, you will embellish your fish with glass frit, stringers, confetti, and paint (optional).

Your fish will then be full fused and slumped on a double-curve mold that we like to call the fish tail mold!

Tuition: $175

Basic glass cutting and fusing knowledge is required.
All materials and tools will be provided.

This 2 night class will be Wednesday, July 17th, 6:30-9:00pm and Thursday, July 18th, 2019, from 6:30-8:00pm.

3-Panel Table Lamp (Intermediate Copper Foil) | 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM
Instructor: Lisa Sejnowski

Add that extra spark of light and ambience to any room with a stained glass lamp you’ve made yourself! In this intermediate copper foil stained glass class, you will make a 3-panel lamp consisting of 1 patterned panel and 2 side panels of solid glass (If you choose to have all 3 sides patterned, you will need to build the other 2 at home). You can either design your own pattern or we have pattern books for sale. Copper foil stained glass skills required. For list of materials and supplies, check our Class Catalog.

Tuition is $165.

One day a week on Mondays, from 6:30-9pm for 4 weeks.

Sculptural Beads | 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Instructor: Lisa Jo Bass

In this 4 hour Saturday intermediate workshop, you will learn:
1. Two methods to make heart shaped beads.
2. How to make disk shaped flowers.
3. How to make simple critters and birds.

Students must have the equivalent of our Beginner Bead Instruction plus one of our Bead Shaping and Fundaments classes (or at least 1-2 hours of additional private instruction and/or studio time).

Saturday Open Studio for Fusers | 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
First ever Saturday Open Studio for Fusers!!

Come collaborate and create during this dedicated studio time just for fusers! And then take advantage of sharing the costs of kiln space with others! Studio time is on a Wednesday from 4-7pm.
Projects taking up to a square foot, will be $15 to fire.To fill up a 13" square kiln shelf, will be$25 to fire.You can select to do a Full Fuse or a Tack Fuse.

Tuition: $30.

All tools, grinders, and table space will be available for you.

Beginner's Lead Stained Glass | 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM
Instructor: Susan Stegall

Students learn the basics of the art of stained glass including glass cutting techniques, design considerations, lead construction, soldering, framing and cementing.

Students will complete a lead panel with a nice victorian pattern which is provided, but using your own stained glass that you have selected.

Tools and materials are not supplied. Glass, tools and supplies will run approximately $300-$400 and are available for purchase at Blue Moon. (These expenses will be spread out over the 6 weeks.) If you have your own tools, please bring them to class.

Tuition: $145

One day a week on Mondays, from 6:30-9 pm for 6 weeks.

Next available class will run July 30th through September 3rd, 2019.

Fused Glass Coral Bowl and Votive | 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM

This new 2-night class is perfect for the summer! The first night, you will be shown how to lay out strips of glass in different geometric patterns that when taken to a full fuse in the kiln, will result in a cool coral bowl! The second night, you can add more strips (if needed) to fill in gaps. And then sift a layer of glass powder on to it and it will be fired again. This night you will have time to lay out a smaller coral design that can be draped into a candle votive or left flat for a cool wall hanging!

Tuition: $95
All materials provided. And no experience required.

This 2 night class will be Wednesday, July 31st and Thursday, August 1st, 2019, from 6:30-8:00pm.

Saturday, August 3
Bouquets | 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
We are very excited to be welcoming Tatyana Boyarinova back from Russia!

This 2-day class includes making off-mandrel snow peas, roses and irises. We’ll learn to make different shapes of petals. We will use different ways to work with petals choosing the best way to get the thickness we need. Then the most interesting part of the class – setting up full branches of flowers! At the end of the class students will end up with bouquets of their own glass flowers!
These are intermediate level classes, so previous flame working experience is required.

Tuition: $450
(A deposit of $225 is required to secure your place in this class)

This 2 day class will be Saturday, August 3rd and Sunday, August 4th, 2019.

Lunch will be provided by Blue Moon.

Art Strips | 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Get an introduction to leaded stained glass construction and a few little twists while making a gorgeous stained glass art strip that you hang!

In this 3 hour workshop, you will learn how to make simple glass cuts, frame in lead, and solder. You get to select from a large selection of 3" wide pieces of beautiful stained glass, and then choose glass embellishments to make it truly a one-of-a-kind! Your finished panel's length will be about 21" long, and you will be shown how to solder hangers at the top.
All tools and supplies are provided.

Silvered Ivory Stringer, Dark Ivory and Shards | 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM

2. Dark ivory reactions.
3. How to blow shards and apply to beads.

Decorative Soldering and Wire-Work | 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM
Instructor: Lisa Sejnowski

NEW CLASS!
Interested in adding some pizzazz and flair to your stained glass artwork? In this 2 1/2 hour class you will learn some techniques in decorative soldering on copper foil or lead lines and zinc frame, incorporating ball-chain and glass nuggets, and making wire-work embellishments including spirals and abstract shapes.

The majority of the class is demonstration, but then you will practice a few of these techniques on a sample panel of plain glass. You will also receive a handout detailing all these tips and techniques.

Previous experience in basic soldering is required.

Fused Glass Tealight Candle Votives | 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM

Yet another little twist to our stringer vase! In this 2 hour class, you will get to make 2 candle votives for small tea lights. One will use 5" long glass stringers to make a mardi-gras woven appearance! And then the second votive will be a single sheet of sheet glass that you will decorate with glass elements.

No class cutting or fusing experience required.

Introduction to Fusing and Slumping | 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Instructor: Terry Mothersole

Students will learn the basics of fusing glass together in a kiln and slumping it in molds to achieve various shapes. Instruction includes cutting glass, how a design can be realized with the use of different forms of glass, understanding the firing of a kiln and other cool techniques.

Students will design and complete 5 projects: a sampler strip, a 6" square plate, a round drop vase, a night light, and the last project will selectable by each student.

Tuition: $175
(Tools are provided, as well as materials for the first night's project. Students can expect to spend approximately $100 for glass for the 4 remaining projects.)

This 5 week class meets on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:30pm.

Beginner's Copper Foil Stained Glass | 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM

Students learn all the basics of the art of stained glass including glass cutting techniques, design considerations, copper foil construction, soldering and framing a stained glass panel.

Students will complete a copper foil project. We have many patterns to choose from, or you can supply one of your own (subject to approval). Tools and materials are not supplied. Glass, tools and supplies will run approximately $300-$400 and are available for purchase at Blue Moon. (These expenses will be spread out over the 6 weeks.) If you have your own tools, please bring them to class.

Tuition: $145

One day a week on Mondays, from 6:30-9:00pm for 6 weeks.
(May require some homework to be done outside of class time, depending on complexity of pattern.)
